LOMC began ministry in Oregon, IL in 1974 after the closing and consolidation of Camp Augustana (Lake Geneva, IL) and Camp Alpine (Richmond, IL).
The land was previously owned by an Indiana Boy Scout Council and before that the property was owned by the Barber family who operated a dairy farm for many years.
Festival bulletin that names the camp as “OMC” (Outdoor Ministries Center) before the name of LOMC was used.
